Hamilton family's flood recovery!

Donation protected
A record setting flood has forcefully evacuated my parents, Mark Hamilton (a disabled veteran with 20 years of service) and his wife Jackie (local community supporter) from their home in Arlington, Nebraska on March 13, 2019. They do not have flood insurance as their home was zoned in a no-flood zone, but obviously Mother Nature states otherwise, insurance will cover some items but not everything. For now they are currently staying in the basement of their daughter’s family home in the neighboring town of Fremont (which is slowly developing a potential for evacuation as the water continues to rise), while they wait for the water levels to return back to normal. They lost EVERYTHING to the flood, including irreplaceable family heirlooms and memories. Since majority of that area in Nebraska is currently flooding and being evacuated, finding places to stay until the water recedes down to normal levels is increasingly becoming harder to find.  They won’t be able to enter their home to make assessments and try to salvage any personal items at least for another week is what they’ve been told by authorities. They are in need of funding to help cover living expenses, and look for a new home as the water levels (which includes sewage) have risen high enough causing irreparable damage. I feel helpless being stationed overseas and unable to do much in this time of hardship. This is the least I could do to help them until they get a home and their lives back.
