Help my parents to afford medical equipment
Donation protected
My Mom, Vanessa, was recently admitted to the St. Boniface Hospital Acute Cardiac Care Unit in Winnipeg.
While living in Thompson, Manitoba, in the winter of 2009, my mom was misdiagnosed for many weeks. The doctors kept telling her that she did not have pneumonia, just a chest infection. On one of her many visits to TGH, my Mom’s health dropped considerably. Luckily, a specialist visiting from Toronto took the time and looked at her X-ray. She recognized immediately that the virus did much worse damage to her heart.
She spent the last decade living her best life with Heart Failure, an implanted Defibrillator and Ejection Fraction, less than 13%
She has been told that, with optimal conditions, she is in the last year of her life
She will remain in the hospital until the cardiologists can determine if her heart is strong enough to pump without the medication that keeps it pumping for her. If she can be weaned off this medication, she can go home to try and live the last of her days in comfort and love.
My parents are very kind people who would help anyone who needs a hand and are too proud to let others know they now could use some help financially.
Day-to-day living is okay, but when Mom comes home, she will need an adjustable bed to help with her breathing. She also needs her bathroom refitted with a special sit-down tub/shower because she is at a high risk of falling unconscious.
We, the family at this time, are asking for some financial help for our Mom to live out her last year in comfort and for William not to worry about how he will make it happen for her.
We thank you all in advance for any help you can provide and ask that you pray for our Mom and, with a miracle, see her beautiful grandbabies grow up.
She’s a fighter, and we all know she will fight till the very end and stay with us to shine her light on everyone.
Thank you from her family.
