Help my parents repair their flooded home.

Hello. My name is Natalie Turner, and my parents are Wilfred and Elena Turner. Their house and car were completely flooded by Hurricane Helene. So much was destroyed. The AC unit in the house, and most of the appliances and furniture were ruined and have to be replaced. The flooring and affected drywall had to be ripped out as well.

This is the second time in six years their house has been flooded by a hurricane. The last one was Hurricane Florence in New Bern, North Carolina. Because of that one, they moved to Hendersonville, North Carolina. There, my parents were told they didn't need flood insurance, so the high cost of repairing and refurnishing the house now falls on them.

My brother, Eric Turner, and I are helping my mom and dad since they are in their 70s and 80s, respectively. Eric has been working tirelessly on the house on his days off, and will soon need to call in the professionals, which will be quite expensive.

So many lives, families and communities were tragically impacted by Hurricane Helene and it's heartbreaking. It will take all of us as a greater national community to rebuild and heal.
