Thursday morning, our world was turned upside down when my parents’ home and shop in Hayward were destroyed in a massive gas line explosion.

You may have seen the news about the explosion—unbelievably, that was my parents’ house. Miraculously, both of my parents are safe!! ❤️‍

My mom was in the living room when the house suddenly and violently exploded. She managed to rescue one of their dogs, Millie, and tried to crawl through the fire & rubble before firefighters intervened and pulled her to safety. Tragically, their other dog, Bright Eyes, and their kitty did not survive the blast. My dad was at work when the explosion happened, and we are so grateful he is safe. We are still in shock, but incredibly thankful that my mom escaped alive and unharmed. It’s truly a miracle she walked away from something like this. ❤️

Unfortunately, my parents have lost everything. Their home and my father’s business were completely destroyed and burnt to the ground. They are left with each other, their surviving doggie, and only the clothes they were wearing at the time. My mom’s glasses were blown off her face.. her phone, wallet, and ID, clothing, documents. A lifetime’s worth of tools and family heirlooms are gone in an instant.

I’ve put together a care package with basic essentials like clothing, toiletries, food, and dog food etc. to help them through this difficult time. The Red Cross provided them with temporary hotel accommodations for the last two nights, but now they will be staying with us at the ranch and with my grandma.

Our family is in good spirits despite the tragedy & stay positive while we figure out the next steps thru this. Life is too short!! We are just sooo grateful they are okay!

All donations will go towards helping my parents get back on their feet—replacing essentials, establishing stable housing, and supporting my dad as he tries to keep his business and livelihood going.
