Help My Parents Recover After Dominican Parade Attack in NYC

On Sunday, July 27, my parents were just trying to drive home after the Dominican Parade in New York City. What should've been a peaceful evening turned into a nightmare that left them traumatized, shaken, and completely unsafe.

As they were driving, their car was suddenly surrounded by a massive crowd. People began jumping on the hood, trying to open the back doors, laughing at them, and recording them like it was a joke.

My mom began having a panic attack. My dad cracked the window just enough to say:

"Please, this is an emergency — I need to take her to the hospital."

But the crowd didn't care.

They kept jumping on the car, mocking them, and laughing as my parents begged for space and safety.

My parents were so terrified, they forgot how to call 911. They called me in tears — and I had to call emergency services for them.

When the NYPD finally arrived and broke up the crowd, my mom told one of the officers, "They were going to kill us."

The officer responded:

"Well, that's New York for ya."

No empathy. No accountability. Just another day to them — but a life-altering moment for my parents.
