Help my parents rebuild Harvey’s cafe after 13 years.

For over 13 years, my parents poured their hearts and souls into running their small café, a beloved gathering spot in our community of Aberbargoed. They worked tirelessly, often seven days a week, to serve their customers, many of whom became more like friends. The café was more than just a business – it was their pride, their passion, and their livelihood. It was a place where people came not just for a cup of tea or a bite to eat, but for warmth, friendship, and the kind of hospitality that made everyone feel at home.
But in a matter of days, everything they worked for was taken away.
Without warning, my parents were evicted from their café over a small arrears of just £42. They received no notice, no time to make the payment or explain their situation. One day, they were running a business they loved, and the next, they were locked out, with no opportunity to even collect their belongings or say goodbye to their loyal customers.
The £42 arrears were due to an unexpected error, which my parents weren’t even aware of until it was too late. Despite their track record of rent payments over the years, the landlord chose to evict them without so much as a conversation. They were left devastated, heartbroken, and suddenly without a source of income.
This café wasn’t just a job – it was their life’s work. Over the years, they created a place where people celebrated birthdays, shared laughs, and found comfort during tough times. They supported local suppliers, gave young people their first jobs, and always offered a helping hand to those in need.
Now, they are left picking up the pieces, uncertain of what the future holds.
We’re raising funds to help my parents cover the immediate financial hit of losing their business, as well as to support them as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. They need help with legal costs, daily living expenses, and the daunting task of figuring out what comes next. With your support, we hope to give them the chance to rebuild their lives and, perhaps one day, start fresh with a new venture.
Any amount, big or small, will make a world of difference and help my parents get back on their feet. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this story – we need all the help we can get.
Thank you for your kindness and support during this heartbreaking time.
