HELP MY PARENTS AFTER SCAM LOSS!

Hello, I am Gina Burris oldest daughter to Josie and James Burris. I am raising money for my parents that were victims to a horrible scam.

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write. Recently, my mom was scammed out of nearly everything she had. She thought she was speaking to YouTube customer support. Instead, she was speaking to a scammer who tricked her into giving her banking info and in a matter of minutes, a large sum of her hard-earned money was gone. My mother is still working at 74 to stay above water. My father is on an very expensive medication that helps keep him healthy.

The bank denied the claim. They said because she “entered information,” they can’t help. But she was manipulated, scared, and trying to do the right thing. My parents are on a fixed income. There’s no recovering this loss for them without help. No second chance. No appeal. I’ve always been someone who gives back, if you know me, you’ve probably seen me run fundraisers, donate, volunteer, or help others without a second thought. But this time, I’m the one asking. For my mom. For my dad. For people who’ve worked their whole lives and don’t deserve to end their retirement like this. I’m doing everything I can but I can’t do it alone. I need help and my village to back me. And I wouldn’t ask unless it truly mattered. If you can give, please know it will go directly toward helping them recover what was stolen. If you can’t give, just sharing this means more than you know. Every bit helps, and it shows my parents that kindness still exists, even after something so hurtful.
