I'm Nevin Essam, mother of three children and together with my disabled husband Akram we live in Gaza. Because of Akrams disability I'm the only breadwinner for my family.

In the heart of besieged Gaza, amidst the rubble of the European Hospital, my husband's body was flying in the air after the explosion. Everyone thought he was killed. But Akram survived... with a motionless body and a heart burning because he was unable to save his brother.

My husband was preparing to donate a kidney to his brother Karam, who suffers from kidney failure, but today he is bedridden, unable to move.

This is not just a story of illness, but a human cry. We face death in silence. We have no support, no stable income, only the siege and the pain.

The costs of treatment abroad are exorbitant and cannot be covered given the catastrophic situation in Gaza. Due to the collapse of the healthcare system this procedure is not possible inside Gaza.
