My niece’s stepfather recently suffered a severe heart attack and had to be resuscitated. Doctors worked quickly to stabilize him, and he underwent dialysis in an effort to support his kidneys. Despite these efforts, his body has not responded as hoped, and he is now experiencing multiple organ failure.
