I created this GoFundMe for my niece and her daughters after they lost everything in a devastating fire. Below is her own heartfelt account of what happened and how this has impacted their lives:

On the early morning of March 18th, 2026, our lives changed forever.

A fire started at our next-door neighbor’s home and spread rapidly through our townhome while we were sleeping. If it weren’t for my daughter waking us up, we may not have made it out in time. Thanks to her quick thinking and bravery, my two daughters, ages 6 and 13 and I escaped with our lives as we stood outside watching our home burn. In just minutes, the place we called home, our clothes, furniture, memories, and every essential item was gone. We are now displaced, currently staying in a local hotel while we try to understand what comes next. As a mother, it has been heartbreaking to watch my girls navigate this trauma while still trying to stay focused in school and hang onto some sense of normalcy. The emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming.

We are humbly asking for help as we begin the painful process of starting over from scratch. The funds raised will go directly toward securing a new place to live, replacing basic furniture, clothing, school essentials, and the everyday items that make a home feel safe again. More than anything, I want to give my daughters stability, comfort, and a place where they can breathe and feel secure.

This has been the most devastating experience of our lives, but we are holding onto hope, hope for stability, hope for healing, and hope that our family, friends, and community can help carry us through this unimaginable moment.
