Hi, my name is Ver Argulla, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart on behalf of our family in the Philippines.

My nephew, Patrick Malelang, is a loving husband and father to two young children. On 26th March, he suffered a severe stroke and was rushed to Silang Specialist Medical Center in Cavite. He was placed in the ICU, and doctors determined that emergency brain surgery was needed to relieve pressure in his brain and save his life.

Thanks to the quick work of the medical team and the strength of everyone’s prayers, Patrick made it through surgery. However, he remains in critical condition, still in a coma and fighting for his life. A second surgery may be required depending on how his condition progresses in the coming days.

The Reality We’re Facing

In just three days, Patrick’s hospital bill has already reached PHP 300,000 (around AUD $8,000), and costs continue to rise each day as he remains in intensive care.

The rest of our family is in the Philippines, doing everything they can to support Patrick and his wife and children through this unimaginable situation.

We’ve begun covering initial expenses and have explored all available options, but with the speed and scale of Patrick’s care needs, we know we can’t do this alone.
