Two nights ago, heavy flooding hit my neighborhood in Denpasar, Bali. Within one hour, the water rose to chest height. In the middle of the night, everyone had to evacuate their homes, carrying only what they could grab.
I was fortunate — I made it out safely, and most of my belongings can be salvaged. But many of my neighbors weren’t as lucky.
Entire houses are ruined. Families lost their furniture, clothes, and essentials. Cars and motorbikes — which many rely on for their jobs and income — were destroyed. In Bali, there is no insurance for situations like this. People live with very little savings, and there’s almost no emergency support available.
These are hardworking families, parents with young kids, who now have to start over from nothing.
That’s why I started this fundraiser. Every euro raised will go directly to my neighbors who need to rebuild their lives — from replacing essentials like bedding and clothes, to repairing or replacing motorbikes so they can work again.
I’ve already made the first donation myself.
Even the smallest contribution will make a big difference here. What may feel small to us can help a family take a real step toward recovery.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
