My nanny and her family are facing a crisis. Her mother has diabetes and developed gangrene in her toes, but without insurance, they had no choice but to seek treatment in Mexico. There, her mother underwent surgery to remove part of her foot, a difficult decision made to avoid losing her leg entirely. To cover the medical costs, my nanny took out loans, and now the family is struggling to afford even the basics—food, electricity, and rent. The threat of eviction looms, and her underage sister and niece could be placed in foster care if they lose their home.
The funds raised will go directly toward helping this hardworking family get back on their feet. Your support will provide food, rent, daily necessities like soap, transportation, and ongoing medical care and medications for her mother. Every dollar will help them meet urgent needs and keep the family together during this incredibly challenging time.
A little bit of help can go a long way. The people I am trying to help didn’t go into their situation willingly—they are hard workers. Thanks from the bottom of my heart and theirs: the mother with illness, five daughters, and their cousin.
