don't tell her about this, seriously she can't know, she wouldn't like it. She's just like that, my mum has a lot of pride and grief in her. She's dealt with so much insane shit in her life u wouldnt believe if i got into it. Last week Thursday she was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer, that's only partly why I'm starting this fund for her. I don't want to get into intense detail because I don't feel it's my place to air her personal affairs online like this, however she has dealt with more than one incredibly toxic relationship, and this one in particular, in the wake of its dissolution, she sees herself fighting to retain ownership of property that was built entirely by her through her own efforts back home in Jamaica. Her ex is far from a person capable of empathy to say the least, and even with everything she's dealing with she still has more to worry about. I just wanna give her a bit of peace by getting the lawyer stuff out the way for her, so she can just focus on getting through chemo. On top of this she's been paying back rent arrears for as long as I have had a concept of money and as a single parent the least I can say is this peace I'm trying to give her is something she has never known herself. I'm a bit worried about her cause she was in poor health before this diagnosis tbh, she has had type 2 diabetes as long as I can remember. On top of paying for legal fees and that I also just wanna take her out somewhere nice for once, seriously all she knows is taking care of her family, I know lots of people like me resonate with this so if you can help in any way it would mean everything to me at this stage.
