As a daughter watching her mother suffer, I am reaching out with all the strength I have left. She has faced an unimaginable health crisis over the past year.

She suddenly became critically unwell earlier this year, everything changed in a moment. What seemed like a simple chest infection turned into a terrifying nightmare. Her breathing collapsed so suddenly that she had to be placed on a ventilator for almost two months. Seeing her lying there, connected to machines, unable to breathe on her own, was the most painful experience of my life.

Just when we thought the worst was over, she was rushed back to the hospital. This time, she needed an emergency tracheostomy due to her airway narrowing (tracheal stenosis). Today, she still depends on that tube to breathe.

Because of severe swallowing difficulties, she can only take liquid food. She cannot speak. She cannot call my name. She cannot talk to her 7-year-old grandson who asks every day when “Nani will talk again.”

Every day, she lives in silence.

Every day, she struggles just to breathe and eat.

And every day, I fear for what comes next.

Why I Need Your Help

The hospital has paused her treatment because the outstanding medical bill has reached £155,586.88, an amount far beyond anything I could manage alone. She is not eligible for NHS care, she is a widow, with no financial means of her own. I am her only daughter and I am doing everything I can, but I simply cannot raise this amount on my own.

Her future treatments

Procedures that could help her breathe more freely, swallow without fear and possibly speak again, are on hold until the existing debt is cleared.

Her life, her comfort, her dignity… all are now at the mercy of this debt.
