Two days ago, my beautiful mum was diagnosed with a very aggressive lung cancer that has already spread to her bones, liver, and spine.
Hearing those words broke our hearts. The shock was even harder because she’s in France… and I’m all the way in Australia. Not being able to hold her, to cook for her, to just be there has been the hardest thing I’ve ever felt.
She’s starting chemotherapy soon, but we also want to do everything possible alongside it to support her body and give her the best chance — natural and alternative treatments, integrative oncologists, naturopaths, healing herbs, supplements, saunas, anything that can help her heal and improve her quality of life while she goes through chemo.
And if these options don’t bring the results we hope for, our dream would be to take her to a special clinic in Mexico that has helped many people with stage 4 cancer — but it comes at a huge cost.
Our family doesn’t have much. My family in France struggles financially, and here in Australia, I’m doing my best to work while caring full-time for our two little girls, with no family support nearby. My husband works full-time too, but if I travel to France, he’ll need to take time off work to stay with the kids — adding even more financial pressure.
Still, I know in my heart that I need to go. I want to be there for my mum — to help her with appointments, cook nourishing meals, hold her hand, and remind her she’s not alone.
Please, if you can, help us give her the best possible quality of life while she fights this battle — and the chance to see her grandchildren grow up.
We’re not ready to let her go ❤️
