My loving mum, Edith Conlon, has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of advanced breast cancer.

As a family, we are doing everything we can to stay strong and focus on hope. Her doctors have recommended a treatment called Enhertu - a chemotherapy drug that could double her life expectancy.

Here comes the difficult part … this treatment is not currently funded by the NHS. Each session costs around £8,000, with a full course of treatment reaching approximately £100,000. It’s a figure we never imagined facing, and one we simply cannot manage alone.

Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards giving my mum access to this treatment - and with it, more time, more memories, and more moments we are not ready to lose. Without Enhertu, our options are limited.

My mum is the heart of our family. She is the most selfless, caring person I know, always putting others before herself, always showing kindness, strength, and laughter, even in the most painful times of her illness. Now it’s our turn to fight for her.

In June, I will be running Race for Life in her honour. I’ll be carrying her strength with me every step of the way, and I refuse to give up hope just yet.
