Hi! My name is Emily Perkins, the daughter of Rachel Perkins who has POTS and long covid. My mom is the hardest working person I know and after contracting COVID in summer 2020, she has been chronically ill. Due to her illness, my mom can’t return to work and we are currently not receiving disability, food stamps, or other kinds of assistance programs. Raising me as a young single mother, she had to work really hard to get us to a place of stability and safety; with all of the bureaucratic inconveniences and constant stress, my mom hasn’t been able to make much progress with the companies who provide disability benefits. My mom currently lives off of a small savings, but lacks money for food, dog food, health and beauty products (shampoo/conditioner, body wash, etc), medical expenses, and any other expense that could come up. Donations will go toward buying my mom the supplies she needs and ensuring our mortgage continues being paid.
