My name is Rebeca Pouchet, and I am organizing this fundraiser for my mother, Guiomar Guevara, whose home in Caracas, Venezuela, was severely damaged by the earthquake of June 24, 2026.

My aunt, Yajaira Guevara, also lives with my mother. This home, purchased by our family in 1984, is much more than a house. For more than 40 years, it has been the heart of our family—a place where generations of the Guevara family have grown up, celebrated birthdays and holidays, welcomed new family members, and created a lifetime of cherished memories.

In just a few terrifying seconds, the earthquake changed everything.

The house suffered extensive damage, including:

* Partial roof collapse

* Major cracks in structural walls

* Significant structural damage

* Collapse of the terrace roof

* Damaged bathrooms and plumbing

* Additional damage that has left much of the home unsafe

By the grace of God, my mother and aunt survived without serious physical injuries. For that, we are deeply grateful. Today, however, they face the heartbreaking reality of living in a home that is no longer safe.

Both are retired seniors living on a limited income. The cost of repairing this home is far beyond anything they could ever afford on their own. Early estimates indicate that a partial restoration will exceed $22,500 once engineers can fully assess the damage and construction materials and labor become available.

Our immediate emergency goal is $7500. These funds will be used to address the most urgent needs: stabilizing the damaged structure, preventing further deterioration, protecting the home from the elements, and completing the critical repairs necessary to help my mother and aunt remain safely in their home while we continue working toward the restoration goals.
