I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. My mother recently suffered a tragic incident that almost cost her life. She spent 10 harrowing days in the ICU, fighting for her life, & continues to slowly heal in the hospital. It’s truly a miracle that she’s still here with us. While we are incredibly grateful that she pulled through, the road to recovery is long and fraught with challenges.

The medical bills are overwhelming, and the emotional toll has been immense. My mother needs extensive medical care, therapy, and support to regain her strength and health. Furthermore, we are hiring legal assistance, as the lack of support and intervention from the authorities has left us in a difficult situation.

Prior to this incident, my brother, who suffers from schizophrenia, had many episodes that clearly showed his condition needed serious attention and treatment. However, because he is considered an adult in the eyes of the state, we were unable to make decisions on his behalf. Our pleas and cries for help were brushed off, leading to devastating consequences for our family.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to help cover my mother's medical expenses, legal fees, and help her start fresh in a new, safe environment.

Me acerco a ustedes hoy con un corazón pesado y un espíritu esperanzado. Mi madre sufrió recientemente un trágico incidente que casi le cuesta la vida. Pasó 10 angustiosos días en la unidad de cuidados intensivos, luchando por su vida, y sigue recuperándose en el hospital. Es un milagro que todavía esta con nosotros. Si estamos increíblemente agradecidos de que haya sobrevivido, el camino hacia la recuperación es largo y lleno de desafíos.

 

Las facturas médicas son abrumadoras y el costo emocional ha sido inmenso. Mi madre necesita atención médica extensa, terapia y apoyo para recuperar sus fuerzas y su salud. Además, estamos contratando asistencia legal, ya que la falta de apoyo y intervención de las autoridades nos ha dejado en una situación difícil.

 

Mi hermano, que sufre de esquizofrenia, tuvo muchos episodios que demostraron claramente que su condición necesitaba atención y tratamiento serios.
