My mother’s life changed dramatically after she was involved in a Greyhound bus accident. The bus was struck by a car and then hit a telephone pole, causing severe injuries to her back. She now faces major surgery, including a transformer lumbar fusion, laminectomy, and posterior spinal fusion with instrumentation. Because of these injuries, she is unable to walk or care for herself, and I have become her full-time caregiver. She used to work as a surgical tech, but she can no longer work and has been denied disability benefits, leaving us with no steady income.

Her surgery is scheduled for August 3rd, but her insurance cannot cover the entire procedure. The costs are overwhelming, and we are struggling to cover medical bills and expenses related to her recovery and physical therapy. The doctor expects a six-month recovery period, during which she will need ongoing support and rehabilitation.
