Help My Mother Recover After a Devastating Accident
Donation protected
On November 17, 2024, my 54-year-old mother, Madhavi, was struck by a speeding car while waiting for a cab in Hyderabad, India. The impact left her critically injured—with deep scalp wounds, fractured ribs, severe leg injuries, and an intestinal hernia. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The following day, during surgery, she suffered a cardiac arrest. Although doctors were able to revive her, the lack of oxygen caused severe brain damage (HIE – Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy). Since then, she has been completely bedridden and dependent on life support. She remained in the ICU on a ventilator for several weeks, battling unstable oxygen levels and blood pressure.
On December 8,2024, she was transferred to a neuro-rehabilitation center. Unfortunately, her condition has remained fragile, with multiple ICU readmissions. Most recently on 4th April 2025, she underwent emergency hernia surgery after doctors discovered that her intestines had been strangulated due to hernia complication sustained during the impact of accident.
Now, she needs long-term care, regular physiotherapy, and medication at home for at least a year to regain even basic mobility.

Why We Need Your Help
Our family has already spent over $50,000 on her treatment.
As the only earning member left:
• I have had to travel back and forth between India and Canada, where I currently live, incurring additional costs.
• My brother is on unpaid leave to help care for her.
• My wife lost her job in March 2025.
• My father gets a meagre old age pension which is not sufficient to take care of the expenses.
• I am now responsible for supporting both my family in India and my wife in Canada.
To make things worse, the driver responsible for the accident has not offered any help or taken accountability.
