Help my mother pay for treatment

Hello, my name is Ernestine, and I’m writing to ask for help for my mother. Virginie Manirakiza is a hardworking and selfless wife, grandmother, and mother of 4 . She was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Chemo was the recommended form of treatment; however, a surgery to remove her ovaries revealed that cancer had spread to her abdominal wall, liver, and lungs. Her doctors began to call into question whether chemotherapy was still a viable option. In addition, she is anemic, and due to the surgery, she continues to lose blood.She has blood clots in her lungs, so she was prescribed blood thinners to help with that; however, this medication intensifies her bleeding. All of those different factors make chemotherapy extremely risky since it would worsen her anemia. We desperately want to try alternative interventions. However, insurance only covers conventional medical treatments.

We would spare no expense to get her the help she needs if we had the money, but we don’t have that luxury. My mother has spent her whole life fighting for the people she loves. She fought to keep her and me alive during the midst of a genocide in Burundi. She fought to find our refuge in Cameroon. She fought to get our family a visa to get to the United States. She fought to build a better life for all four of her kids. She fought to become a nurse, and recently she welcomed my newborn and me back into her home after the passing of my fiancé on June 19, 2021. Now she has to fight again. My mother is the strongest person I know, but we won’t let her fight alone. So that is why we humbly ask that if there is any amount you can donate to help my mom in this fight for her life, we would be so thankful.
