My name is Peyton, and I’m raising this fundraiser for myself and my mother because we are on the brink of eviction after being unable to pay our rent.
I am a Black, queer, non-binary artist, and this situation has taken a serious toll on daily life. I have no time for anything but job hunting and working on the commissions I have received. The stress has been intense, and I’ve been falling ill more often. My sleep is out of sync, and I’m struggling to eat. On top of that, my mother and I are trying to carry the fear of losing our housing while keeping up with basic bills. Even while we are asking for help, we are still actively looking for work.
The funds from this fundraiser would go directly toward rent, utilities, internet, and phone bills. We need help immediately to try to stabilize our situation and keep a roof over our heads.
We also have a 10-year-old shiba inu, Prince, who we treated for illness when he came to us on death’s door, so it is important that he stays with us so we can continue his care. We also have a one-year-old gray tabby named Elvira, and it would be traumatizing to have to rehome her. Keeping our household together includes keeping Prince and Elvira with us.
