Hi, I am Mukta Dhungana. I am creating this fundraiser for my dear mother, Kanak Lata Sharma, who has been diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC), a fast-growing type of lung cancer that needs urgent and ongoing treatment.

For the past two months, my mother’s health was getting worse every day. We visited many hospitals - including Annapurna Neuro Hospital and Aarus Lifestyle Hospital - hoping to find out what was wrong. But no one could give us answers. Finally, on June 30th, doctors at Nepal Mediciti Hospital, Lalitpur, diagnosed her with this aggressive cancer.

Her treatment is now going on at Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Lalitpur. The doctors have suggested chemotherapy and immunotherapy to help control the disease and give her a better chance to fight it. As per doctor there is going to be 3 sessions in a month 1 week apart. Each session costs between NPR 150,000 to 200,000 (USD 1,000 to 1,500) or more, depending on the dose of immunotherapy. We don’t know how long the treatment will need to continue.

We have been spending on her tests and treatment as much as we can, but now the costs are getting too high for us to manage alone. As her child, I want to do everything possible to save her life, but we need your help.
