My name is Datin Devezin, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your prayers, love, and support for my mother, Ione Smith. On August 31,2025, our lives were forever changed when my mother was tragically shot by her husband. She is now in critical condition, fighting for her life in the ICU.

My mother is the strongest, most loving woman/mother/grandmother/Sister&Friend I know. She has always put others before herself—whether it was caring for family, being a friend to those in need, or offering her kindness to anyone who crossed her path. She is the heart of our family, and seeing her in this condition is something I could never have imagined.

The road ahead will be long and uncertain. She has already undergone 3 surgeries, and her recovery will require extensive medical treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term care. On top of that, our family faces overwhelming financial burdens—from mounting hospital bills to the costs of helping her rebuild her life after this tragedy.

I am creating this fundraiser because my mother deserves a chance to heal without the crushing weight of financial stress. Every single dollar raised will go directly toward her medical expenses, rehabilitation, and ensuring she has the support she needs on her journey to recovery.
