My name is Jeanmarie Robertson, and I am writing this with a kind of pain I never imagined I would experience. My mother — the strongest, most selfless woman I have ever known — is fighting stage 3B lung cancer, and we are running out of time, options, and resources.

If you knew my mother, you would know why I am fighting so hard for her.

She is the woman who held our family together through every storm.

The woman who worked long hours but still came home to cook, clean, and comfort us.

The woman who opened her door to anyone who needed help, even when she didn’t have much herself.

The woman who made holidays magical, who made everyone laugh, who gave and gave without ever asking for anything in return.

She has always been our strength.

She has always been the one we leaned on.

Now, for the first time in her life, she needs us — and I am devastated that I cannot give her everything she needs on my own.

Our Family Is in Crisis — Emotionally and Financially

From the beginning, my mother’s cancer has progressed quickly, and her care requires constant appointments, medication, transportation, and daily support. I am doing everything I can — caring for her, raising my children, and searching for a second and even a third job — but the financial burden is crushing us. My little sister has been helping too, doing whatever she can to support my mother and keep our family afloat, but we still need help.

To make our situation even more heartbreaking, we recently suffered a tragic and sudden loss. My sister-in-law passed away unexpectedly, leaving our entire family in shock and grief. We are trying to support one another while also trying to save my mother’s life.

And the truth is… we can’t do it alone anymore.

Every single bill is piling up.

Every treatment, every medication, every trip to her appointments is another cost we can’t afford.

I am terrified of losing my mother not just to cancer, but because we don’t have the financial means to keep up with everything she needs.
