Support for Mother Gita Amrita Devi Dasi's Urgent Medical Care
Dear friends and well-wishers,
With folded hands, we seek your heartfelt support for my mother Gita Amrita Devi Dasi, a dedicated Vaishnavi who, along with my father Sadhan Siddhi Das, joined the ISKCON movement in Mayapur in 1978. For over four decades, they have lived a life of simplicity, devotion, and service to Sri Sri Radha Madhava and Srila Prabhupada’s mission.
Now at 67 years old, my mother Gita Amrita is fighting a very serious health battle. She has been diagnosed with Stage 5 myasthenia gravis, also known as myasthenic crisis, is a severe and life-threatening stage characterized by significant respiratory muscle weakness, leading to difficulty breathing and requiring immediate medical intervention like intubation or mechanical ventilation. This stage signifies a critical situation where the muscles controlling breathing are severely compromised, necessitating external respiratory support.
She has been hospitalized since July 15 and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). She is also suffering from a lung infection, making it extremely difficult for her to breathe, and nerve-related issues that are affecting her eyesight. The medical costs, medications, and prolonged care have become overwhelming for our family.
We humbly appeal to your kind hearts to help support her recovery and relieve the financial burden on this senior devotee couple who have given their lives to devotional service. Any donation — big or small — will be a great service and deeply appreciated.
Please also keep her in your prayers and share this message with others.
With gratitude,
Uttam Bhakta Das (JPS) & Family.
