Help my mom to remove brain cancer

Donation protected
My name is Jina Thomas. Last month, I went to see my mom in South Korea. It was the first time I saw her since I moved to the States, in July 2005 about 18 years ago.

I constantly worry about my mom. She is all by herself and getting older so I wanted to bring her to the U.S. to live together. However, I wasn’t sure if my mom would like it here. So, I decided to bring her for a month to see if she would be interested in living in the States; she landed in Orlando on May 04, 2023.

A couple of days after she came to the States, I noticed that she started to walk a bit funny. I also noticed that she was consistently losing her train of thought. So I decided to send her back to South Korea earlier than we had originally planned.

Three days before her flight my mom had a seizure, I immediately called 911. We rushed to the Orlando ER where they took a CT scan of her brain and found that she has a brain tumor about 7 cm in size. After she got some seizure medication she seemed to be doing ok, so the ER doctor said we could send her back to South Korea. While we waited to be discharged, the neurosurgeon contacted the ER and explained that my mom needed to remove the tumor as soon as possible due to its size. The next day she transferred to the cancer center in downtown Orlando.

After she transferred to the cancer center the neurosurgeon found yet another tumor on her brain. He became concerned that it might be from another organ. So he ordered another CT for her whole body and found cancer in her lung and one more tumor on her brain. In total, she has three tumors in her brain.

First, they will remove her biggest tumor and have a biopsy on May 26. After the biopsy, they will decide what to do next.
My mom entered the States with a visitor visa so she has to leave the States before August 1st. If her treatment gets any longer or her physical condition is not adequate to fly, she will have to extend her visa(I-539) and explain the reason. Since it’s a medical issue, she will have to prove that she can pay the entire bill before she leaves the States. This was for this reason that I opened the Gofundme

My mom and I are each other’s only family. I have nowhere to ask for help. So even the smallest donation is truly appreciated. I am grateful for any support.
