- Hi, my name is Bushra. I am writing for my mom Tuba who is a wonderful and strong woman who has been going through a lot of suffering during her fight with Leukemia. She is not only the best mom but also a wonderful woman and an example for many women. Many of you who knows her, would agree with me, she is a fighter who never gave up with her fight against cancer. She is a strong woman who gives unconditional love and gives her love continuously to every soul she touches. But today I am writing about her because she does not only needs her family help , she needs your help.
- Mom got diagnosed with Leukemia, 2011 after mother's day. I remember my mom when she got very sick on mother's day. We did not know what was wrong with her. Mom put up the fight in 2011 and went in-remission 2014 and 2018 her cancer is BACK AGAIN ! Many times she got hospitalized and received blood transfusion. She is a fighter and mom 'NEVER GIVES UP"
- 2018 in August her cancer came back and doctors started her treatments again. But this time , her cancer gets stronger and she ended up multiple times in the hospital . Mom got Covid in October 2021 and hospitalized 21 days and beat the Covid too and came back to us. As you read this, you probably know herby now how strong she is. 2021, May mom got very sick and hospitalized again this time we found out her cancer got aggressive and the only way to save her life is finding the match so doctors can do the stem cell (bone marrow) transplant. Mom has a younger sister and a brother, after they both got tested to see who could be the match, My uncle is the 100 percent match to my mom. Doctors say "My mom is very lucky " to find her match this quick. The transfer of stem cell suppose to start in late October 2021 but there is a delay due to my mom's blood count and level of her cancer. the doctors are trying to keep it under control in order the transplant to be successful. If her current treatment cant keep things under control doctors are planing to go heavy chemo treatment before her treatment in order to kill every cancer cell in her body. Leukemia sucks just like every cancer.
- My mom's cancer fight is not over, now she has little time to fight other wise this cancer will take her away from us.
- By 2022 February mom will be back at UCSD cancer center for her long fight against cancer. Her fight will take a year. If no complications she will stay at the hospital 1 month, if complications rises , her stay at the hospital will take longer. There is also a possibility that this treatment may not be successful and there is a chance 20 to 30 percent death. But we know she will put her best fight. Doctors also say "It is very important that the day her immune system will be erased and my uncle's stem cell(bone marrow) injected , the fist findings of her new immunity growth cell , thats the day of my mom's new birth date"
- My sister and I we will be her main care giver. Mainly my self will be her full time care giver. Currently I have to pause my studies at college in order to support and take care of my mom.
