Help My Momma, Wendi Coffman, Rebuild After Park Fire

I'm Heidi Rozzano, and my mom, Wendi Coffman, was one of the unfortunate people of Cohasset, California to lose her home to the monster blaze known as the Park Fire. This is the second time she's had her home and everything in it burn. The first time, in '97, she and my dad, Howard Coffman, left for work while I was with my babysitter. They had no clue that they would be called and told their house was burning and that their 4-year-old daughter had escaped a fire.

Here we are, 27 years later, when she left her home to babysit her grandkids and rushed home later that afternoon to grab the two dogs of hers that hadn't already run away. She didn't grab anything else: just Lyra and Sadie.

Everything she was able to save from the first fire, kept and held dear since, and all the mundane things of life were in her house when the flames swept through. Several cars, including two of mine, were on her property, my dad's RV and countless other things that he was storing up the hill, including treasures of his own.

I could go on and on about all the things we've lost, especially my mom since she was the one living there at the time. However, there isn't enough time, energy, or space to list out the 27 years of living that started with the healing from the loss of one home and included time when my dad, myself, all of my sisters, and all of her grandchildren lived there with her at one point or another. She's the only one who's lived in that house from day one to the last one, and has been through some tough times in between.

So many of us have lost so much, and we're all spread thin. I set the goal high because the loss is high, but any amount is more than what she has now and a blessing in her time of need. The funds raised here will go toward clearing her property, building a new home, replacing vehicles, replacing lost items and furniture, and to help her live in peace in the meantime.
