Hello everyone. We are raising money for our mother, Deborah. She is the kindest, most-welcoming, hilarious and unique human. She just gives so much, never expecting anything in return...and has been through so much in her life time.
On Sunday, May 15th she was struck with a sudden brain bleed. She was helicoptered 2 hours from home to a neuro-focused hospital. The specialists found clots in her brain and eventually had to perform an emergency craniotomy, removing part of her skull to access the problematic area.
She is finally healing -- but her medical insurance will not cover everything. Additionally, she will have to undergo extensive physical therapy to get back to her life again. Lastly, this is not the end of this. They will likely have to perform additional work on her down the line.
Stress management is extremely key in her healing process. We are trying to minimize any worries or concerns she may have that could compromise her health and healing for the time being. This is where your help could really come into play---
If you know our mother, you will know that her primary income is freelance teaching and buying & selling vintage collectibles, furniture. Her loving husband, Gary, is retired so finances are tight. Due to this frightening health scare, she will not be able to return to these things for quite awhile, which unfortunately, will affect her fixed income. Also, due to increased gas prices, the cost of transportation to and from the hospital for her husband to visit her on a daily basis is astronomical.
Anything helps. If you know this woman and what she has been through in her life, then you will know that she does not deserve this. For those of you who do not know her...she is one of the good ones. Please, if you have the means and you have it in your heart... our family would greatly appreciate it so that our mother can have one less thing to worry about in this upcoming road to recovery.
Thank you so much <3
