Hi, my name is Sara. On December 29th, my mom, Colleen, suffered from a hemorrhagic stroke which left her with paralysis of her left arm and leg, and a facial droop on the left of her face. The doctors are still monitoring her blood pressure and waiting to see how her body recovers from the hemorrhage. As of right now she is in the stroke unit until the medical team signs off, and eventually she will move to a rehabilitation facility.
Her medical team have said this will be a long recovery process of at least two to six months, or longer, depending on how her mobility evolves.
While she recovers, she will need access to mobility aids, such a shower chair, a walker and other medical equipment, and will be on long term medication.
As my mom’s work does not provide benefits, we are looking to ease the financial strain while she is unable to work, as she needs to cover rent and living expenses on top of the new changes she will need to afford such as medication and mobility aids.
My mom is the kindest person and always tries to put everyone else first, and we would appreciate any help no matter how small during her road to recovery, while we care for her ❤️
