Unfortunately my mom Maura who lives in  Caracas, Venezuela has contracted
Covid-Pneumonia. Very distressing situation not just because she is requiring oxygen, but because she spend 2 days in a car trying to go to different health centres looking for help. She struggle because there were not enough beds or oxygen available as they are hitting a second wave. Furthermore the price of a hospital bed is 1500 dollars per day.  She could not get a hospital  bed unless she could afford the expenses.

In Venezuela we have an humanitarian crisis and she can not use her insurance as it was declined because it was in the local currency instead of dollars.

Finally after 2 days she found a bed in a hospital, but the  cost of the healthcare she is receiving is practically unaffordable . A 5 days admission for Covid pneumonia is around 8500 dollars, we have been supporting her with money but unfortunately 5 days will not be enough for her .

She is currently on 10 ltrs of oxygen and I hope she gets better but I am fundraisingto help her cover her costs , specially oxygen - at the moment is the most important thing that is keeping her going.
