Help My Mom Survive Her Burnt Down Home
Donation protected
Hello you. Usually when I write to you it's of a more light-hearted and gentle tone, but in this case it's not quite the same. I'm writing from the bottom of my heart for help for my mother. She's older, lives by herself, and several days ago, her house was burnt down because of a space heater that had fallen over. Normally, this sort of thing would be taken care of by insurance, but my mom had accidentally let her insurance lapse in September and forgotten to pay it. Therefore, she has no financial recourse to help her rebuild.
I'm very lucky that my mother, who is the most important person in the world to me, is okay. Shaken but unhurt, I am so thankful she's alive. She's currently living at a friend's house while we figure out what to do. I'm going to be going up there this weekend to help her salvage what she can from the wreckage, including precious mementos, terrible photos of me as a chubby toddler, family heirlooms, and more.
I will be doing all I can to help rehouse my mom and furnish a new place for her, especially with the holidays approaching and how cold Seattle can be, I'm hoping to do this as soon as possible. Whatever money is donated will go directly to paying for a deposit on a rental apartment, and furnishing it with whatever she will need for the next couple of months, as well as purchase some warm clothes for her for the upcoming winter.
You all are so important to me as a community, and I am so lucky that I get to have you in my life. Thank you already for your concern, your kindness, and your willingness to help. I am beyond grateful already to know you, but any sort of help you are able to give will be something I am eternally grateful for.
My mom's a great lady, and I wouldn't be half the person I am today without her. Help me love her back, and take care of her. <3
