Hello, my name is Miranda, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my mom, Georgina.

I’m hoping to raise $700 to help cover the cost of Blink’s veterinary care, cremation, and urn after she had to make the heartbreaking decision to euthanize him on Wednesday due to his age.

Blink was my mom’s baby. He was named after Winnipeg Blue Bombers legend Charles “Blink” Roberts, my late stepdad’s favourite player back in the day. He was the light of my mom’s life and lived an incredible life, passing away just two months shy of his 20th birthday.

Blink was such a special cat. He was a beautiful brown and black polydactyl Manx with little bits of white, and those extra toes made him even more unique. While he tolerated the rest of us, my mom was his person. The moment she sat down, he’d be on her chest, curled up and happy. They shared a bond that words can’t truly describe.

Anyone who knows my mom knows how kind, thoughtful, and caring she is. She’s always the first person to lend a helping hand whenever she can. Today, I’m hoping we can do the same for her.

The total cost of Blink’s veterinary bill, cremation, and urn came to $700. My mom paid every penny without hesitation because that’s what you do for someone you love. But I would love to ease that financial burden so she can focus on grieving the loss of her baby instead of worrying about the expense.
