I never thought I would be in a position to ask for help like this—but I’m asking for my mom.

For more than 40 years, my mom has dedicated her life to empowering incarcerated and system-impacted teens — especially girls who often had no voice. She testified at congressional hearings contributing to funding and support for programs serving women, families, and youth, Juvenile Justice Programs,that needed help reauthorization and/or funding streams across the country.

Her work has been recognized by members of the U.S. Senate and Congress, the State of California, and the Cities of Carpinteria, Santa Barbara and Ventura. She was also honored as Woman of the Year for Girls Inc of Carpinteria to name a few of her recognitions throughout Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties. More importantly, she has spent her life showing up for others .

Now, my mom is living with a disability and facing financial challenges. She is preparing to relocate to another state due to the high cost of Santa Barbara County. This will enable her to find a more sustainable and affordable living situation. This move comes with significant costs—any support toward moving, travel, temporary housing, basic relocation costs will help her land safely and avoid deeper hardship.

It’s not easy to ask for help, but I know how much she has given to others throughout her life. Any support — whether through a small or large donation or simply sharing this — truly means so much to our family. Every donation helps.
