My mom had her first stroke 2.5 years ago and had carotid endarterectomy surgery on August 28th to prevent any future strokes or heart attacks. Unfortunately, right after her surgery, she suffered from a massive stroke. It left her completely paralyzed on the right side and unable to see out of her right eye. She's likely going to spend over a month in the hospital and at Mary Free Bed going through various kinds of therapy to hopefully gain back some of her movement and strength.

My mom babysat my sister's almost 3-year-old child as well as my 3-month-old baby so we didn't have to pay for childcare while working. Unfortunately, this has caused some very unexpected life changes for all of us. Once my mom is out of the hospital, I'm having to decrease my work hours and become her full-time caregiver. My mom is one of the kindest, most genuine, generous, give-the-shirt-off-her-back type of person. She's been through so much in the last 10 years, including the passing of her firstborn son in 2020. If you are able to help relieve some of the financial burden that this puts on all of us, we would forever be grateful. She's doing her best to stay positive and optimistic.
