My mom, Lorna Funtila, is the strongest person I know. Recently, on July 24, 2025, at the Philippine Heart Center, her strength was put to the ultimate test when she had to undergo Bentall surgery (a complex heart operation to replace her aortic valve and aorta) along with coronary artery bypass grafting to restore proper blood flow to her heart.

While the surgeries were successful, her recovery is far from over. She is still facing another critical procedure — pacemaker insertion — to help regulate her heart rhythm and ensure she can live safely and comfortably.

These last few weeks have been overwhelming for our family — emotionally, physically, and financially. We’ve done our best to cover the mounting medical bills, but the costs for her surgeries, hospital stays, medications, and upcoming pacemaker procedure have gone beyond what we can handle alone.
