My mom has always been the kind of person who goes out of her way to help others. Recently, while trying to help a workman load our old amps into his truck, she slipped on the icy, snowy ground and suffered a terrible fall. The accident left her with three fractured ribs and a punctured right lung. She had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance, spent time in the emergency room, and was later transferred to a hospital with a trauma ward because of the severity of her injuries. Now, she faces several days in the hospital, and the medical bills are already piling up.

We are a strong family unit, but my mom is a K-12 art teacher, and I'm still in college. The financial strain from this accident is overwhelming, and we're worried about how we'll manage the mounting hospital and medical expenses. My mom has always worked hard to provide for us and her students, and it's heartbreaking to see her in pain and facing such a difficult recovery.
