Help My Mom Recover After a Wedding Day Tragedy

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rose Costantine-Stomberg.
I never imagined that one of the happiest days of my life would end in something so heartbreaking.

On Sunday, October 5, 2025, I married the love of my life surrounded by family and friends. It was supposed to be a night filled with laughter, dancing, and memories we’d cherish forever. But before the evening was over, tragedy struck.

During the reception, the venue invited us to meet and take photos with their Highland cows — three sweet, fluffy animals that everyone was excited to be around. My mom bent down kiss one of the cows when it suddenly got excited and jumped up onto her back. It bent her completely in half and landed on her, breaking her back in an instant.

My mom has already faced more medical battles than most people do in a lifetime. She’s survived cancer, undergone major surgeries including the removal of her entire colon, and was scheduled for rare brain surgery next month. And now she’s lying in a hospital bed recovering from a broken back — all because of what should have been a joyful moment at my wedding.

My parents are still at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. They flew here from Florida to be with me on my special day. My little sister, who is only 12 years old, is back home with family friends. My dad is by my mom’s side every second, unable to work while caring for her and trying to figure out what comes next. We’re still working with doctors and the hospital to find the safest way to get her home.

On top of the pain and uncertainty, there are huge financial challenges. My dad was just about to expand his magic shows at their new venue — something my parents have poured their hearts and souls into. Now, those plans are on hold as they face medical bills, rehabilitation costs, travel expenses, and lost income.

I know my parents would never ask for help themselves. But I love them too much to just sit by and watch them drown under this weight. My mom is the most selfless person I’ve ever known. She has spent this past year pouring every ounce of energy into helping plan my wedding, staying up late to make everything perfect, even while managing her own health struggles. She’s always been the one to lift others up. Now she needs help getting through the hardest chapter of her life.

Any donation — big or small — will go directly toward medical and recovery expenses, travel to get her home, and living costs while my dad cares for her full time. With the holidays approaching, I’m just hoping and praying for a miracle to help ease their burden.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, donating, or even just sharing their story.
