Last Thursday, a large tree fell onto my mom’s home and caused serious damage to the roof, windows, and parts of the walls, including near my younger sibling’s room.

Right now, the house isn’t safe and needs repairs before everything is fully okay again. My mom is a single mom with my younger siblings living at home, and she doesn’t have homeowners insurance, so everything has to be paid out of pocket.

With the weather lately, it’s gotten even harder. The rain has been coming through the tarps on the roof and leaking into the house, so she has buckets set up inside to catch the water.

We’re just taking it one step at a time and trying to get things back in order while she does her best to keep my siblings safe and comfortable.
