Yesterday, my mother experienced something no one should ever have to face—her home caught fire. In a matter of hours, she lost half of her home and so many of her belongings. The place she called her sanctuary is now unlivable, and she's been forced to move out and start over. Through it all, we are so grateful that her four beloved cats made it out safely, but they will need to see the vet to make sure they're truly okay after such a traumatic event.

The fire took away so many of her immediate needs—kitchen supplies, toiletries, and personal items that make daily life possible. She's now facing the challenge of finding temporary housing, covering moving expenses, and replacing the essentials she lost. The road ahead is daunting, but I know that with a little help, she can begin to rebuild.

My mother has lost her safe place and sanctuary, right before a holiday she was looking forward to making special for those around her. She is deeply grateful that her pets are safe, but she has a long journey ahead to get back on her feet. We know times are hard for everyone, and we will be so grateful for anything anyone can spare.
