Hello, my name is John, and I’m raising funds for my mom — a hardworking, selfless woman who has always put everyone else first.
On Sunday night in Amarillo, a fire broke out in a vacant house next door to my mom’s home on North Pierce Street. The news only mentioned the abandoned property, but the damage went further. The fire destroyed both of my mom’s cars and damaged the side of her home, including the stucco she had recently saved up to repair. The heat and smoke also tore through our backyard — the same one where my siblings and I grew up playing.
She doesn’t know I’m creating this. But after everything she’s sacrificed, I can’t just sit by while she’s left with nothing.
My mom worked for years to pay off both of her cars and to slowly make improvements to her home. Now, through no fault of her own, she’s left with no transportation and costly repairs she wasn’t prepared for. She’s not someone who asks for help — and truthfully, neither am I — so this isn’t easy to write.
All of her kids, including myself, are currently in school and doing our best — and we’re committed to helping her rebuild. We’re not asking others to carry the whole burden — but any help at all would truly mean the world right now.
I’m hoping to raise enough to:
Help her get a reliable car
Repair the fire damage to her home
Fix the fence that was burned and torn down by the fire
Even a small donation would go a long way. And if you can’t give, please consider sharing this with others. Above all, we ask for your prayers during this time.
Thank you so much, and God bless you,
— John
