Hello Everyone!

To start with, my mom has no idea I'm doing this. We are approaching the 10th anniversary of my Veteran father's death. Since 2015, my mom has been a single mother.

Many of you know my mom has been having health issues since February 2025. It all started with her having a silent heart attack, then she started having kidney issues, she became fatigued, and her legs would become so swollen she could barely move her feet. Despite this, she continued working.

Now, after three months of doctors' appointments, tests, and her deteriorating condition, we finally have some answers. These answers have led us to Moffitt Cancer Center, over two hours away from home. At her first appointment there on May 14th, it was decided she was going to be admitted so she could get more tests done and help with her pain. We still do not have a definitive date for when she is coming home. Her team of doctors has almost narrowed down what she has. Her team has narrowed it down to Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis (a very rare disease). The treatment, regardless of the disease, will involve chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and additional therapies.

Due to the many tests, appointments, and now two hospital stays (one in Cape Canaveral and the other in Tampa), my mom has run out of sick days and comp time. Bills will continue to come even if you are sick. We will still make trips to Moffitt about once a month, even though she can receive her treatment in Merritt Island. She plans to continue working for as long as she can. Please consider donating and helping my mom.
