My mom has always been the one to care for others. She’s a NICU nurse who has spent her life helping newborns and their families, and she just became a Gigi—her favorite new title. Now she’s facing something tough herself. She was recently diagnosed with a rare breast cancer called mucinous carcinoma and needs a double mastectomy. That means she’ll be off work for at least six weeks to recover.

With no income during this time, the bills and treatment costs are overwhelming. My mom has always worked hard to support our family and those around her, but now she needs a little help herself. Even though she’s been applying for grants and looking for resources, it hasn’t been enough to cover everything.
