Help My Mom Keep From Getting Evicted From Her Townhome

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

My mom has spent her life as a Registered Nurse, dedicated to caring for others during their most difficult moments. Today, she finds herself in a position she never imagined: she’s the one needing help.

Over the last few years, her health has taken a devastating turn. She is currently fighting Leukemia and is in the midst of treatment. During this journey, she also suffered a stroke, which has made her recovery even more complex. She almost passed away this past Christmas due to sepsis. On top of these challenges, she is managing Diabetes and is currently receiving intensive treatment for diabetic ulcers on her feet.

Because of these compounding health issues, she’s physically unable to work and provide for herself. She and I have both exhausted our savings, and she is now facing the terrifying reality of eviction if her rent isn’t paid by Wednesday the 22nd. I’m currently trying to finish my degree at Western Carolina University and I can only help so much while trying to accomplish my studies. I’m a Residential Assistant as well and as much as I love what I do, it’s unfortunately not nearly enough to pay our way out of this dilemma.

I am reaching out to my community, my friends, and anyone who can help. My goal is to raise enough to cover mom’s immediate housing costs and basic living expenses so she can focus on medical treatments and healing without the constant fear of losing her home. I also want to mention that we have 2 dogs and a hedgehog at the house and I have no way to keep them if this eviction becomes reality, which would be utterly heartbreaking to all of us. I am asking a goal of $4,500. This will cover this months rent and give her some breathing room going forward and time to work on this issue.

Any contribution, no matter how small, makes a world of difference. If you aren't able to donate, sharing this link with your network would mean just as much to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, prayers, and support.

With gratitude,

Shayla
