On May 11th, 2026, around 6 or 7 pm, my mom and Jim finished work and decided to grab something to eat before heading home. As they entered their neighborhood, they saw about 20 fire trucks and thick black smoke filling the sky. At first, they thought it seemed close to their house, but nothing could have prepared them for what they saw next—their entire home was engulfed in flames. Their whole life was going up in smoke.
Thankfully, no one was harmed and the fire was brought under control quickly, but my mom and Jim lost everything. The only things they have left are their car and the clothes they were wearing. They didn’t have insurance, so starting over will be incredibly hard. I’ve never done anything like this before, but I feel called to help them in any way I can.
If you’re able to help my mom and Jim get back on their feet, anything helps—truly, anything. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and prayers.
