My name is Shelby (you may also know me as The Entangled Fae or Schlebbzz) and I am trying to raise money for my Mom, Jeannette. She was in a bicycle accident on October 29, 2023, which caused her to be rushed to an emergency room via ambulance. Her mesentary was torn and she experienced internal bleeding in her abominal muscles, colon, and small intesntines. Her injuries warranted her being transferred to a Trauma I hospital via another ambulance ride. She discharged from the hospital on November 1st, but had a scare and had to return to an emergency room on November 3rd. Since then, she has slowly been on the mend; however, because of the severity of her injuries she has been out of work since the accident and will not be able to return for another week yet, so she has been unable to work or make money for 4 weeks.

I was going to wait to make this gofundme until we had a specific dollar amount to share from all the hospital bills, but in all honesty we're not able to wait until that time comes, my mom needs help now.

For more context, my mom lives alone on just her own incme. She has been working as a lifestyle and activities director in an assisted living and memory care facility the entirety of the COVID-19 pandemic and has had covid multiple times as a result, which has left her in a tight spot finacially because she had to miss work each time she got sick. She has been riding her bike to and from work because she has not even been able to afford to get a car for quite some time now. Once she's able to return to work, she will not be able to use her bike to get there as her body is still healing.

As y'all know, the healthcare system and insurance system in the US is messed up. Insurance is only going to cover a small fraction of her medical bills.

All money raised will go towards the medical bills acrued from the accident - including 2 ambulance rides, tow emergency room visits, 2 CAT Scans, 2 xrays, and services for 3 days at a level 1 trauma hospital. If we somehow manage to raise more money than what her medical bills are, any additional money will go towards a used car for her.

I'm just doing what I can to help out someone that I love who is desperately in need. Every little bit helps and I cannot thank you all enough for your support.
