My mom, Irma, is a loving mother of 4 who has always been the heart of our family. Recently, she has been struggling with significant weight loss and anemia, and our concerns grew as her health declined. After many tests and doctor visits, we received the devastating news that she has stage 4 adenocarcinoma of the intestine with liver metastasis. Our world has been turned upside down, and seeing my mom face this battle has been incredibly difficult for all of us. We want to do everything possible to give her the best chance at recovery and a meaningful life.
Instead of traditional chemotherapy, which we believe would kill her faster than the cancer, we are hoping to pursue a holistic approach to treatment. This path offers hope for healing without the devastating side effects of chemo, which could do more harm than good in her case.
